Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of pattole.com. By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

The site is operated by Subramanya Estate (“Pattolé”, “we”, “us”), Karnangeri Village, Madikeri, Kodagu, Karnataka 571201, India.

What this site is

This site describes our estate and the coffee grown on it. At present it is informational: it publishes our estate survey, our botanical record and our range, and it allows you to leave an email address so we can tell you when a lot is ready.

The site does not currently take orders or payments. Nothing on it is an offer to sell, and no contract of sale arises from using it. If we add a shop, we will publish separate terms of sale covering price, delivery, cancellation and returns.

About the information we publish

We take unusual care with the accuracy of what we publish, and we would rather show a gap than a guess.

• Attributed data. Rainfall, temperature and soil figures are credited to their source — the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre, the State Meteorological Department, and the ICAR-KVK Kodagu soil laboratory. They are third-party measurements for the Karnangeri region, not instrument readings taken on our own land, and they are presented as such.
• Ranges, not false precision. Where a figure varies, we publish the range.
• Declared gaps. Fields marked “being measured”, “survey pending” or similar are measurements we have not yet made. We do not fill them with estimates.
• Terrain graphics. The contour system throughout the site is derived from our own estate survey. It is a design derivation, not a surveyed map for navigation, boundary or legal purposes.
• Agricultural variation. Coffee is a crop. Harvest timing, yield, and the character of any lot vary season to season. Descriptions are indicative of the estate, not guarantees about a particular bag.
• Tasting notes. Where published, they are recorded from our own cupping of a specific lot and describe that lot.

The site is provided in good faith and “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may correct, update or remove content at any time.

Our intellectual property

Everything on this site belongs to us or is used with permission. This includes:

• The names Pattolé™ and The House of Kokalera™, the slogan “Grown high. Made by hand.”™, and The Living Atlas™ — trademarks of Subramanya Estate, registration pending.
• The leaf mark and the Pattolé wordmark.
• The estate terrain and contour system, in every form it appears — line, elevation mass, seasonal state and derived graphic.
• The botanical plates of the Living Atlas, and their registration numbering.
• All photography, illustration, text and packaging artwork.

What you may do

You may view the site, and print or download pages for your own personal, non-commercial reference — including the document edition of the Living Atlas. You may link to the site.

What you may not do

• Reproduce, republish or distribute our content commercially without written permission.
• Use our marks, wordmark, terrain system or plates on your own products, packaging or materials.
• Use our content to train machine-learning or generative models.
• Scrape, mirror or systematically harvest the site.
• Remove or alter any trademark notice, credit or attribution.
• Present our estate data as your own, or as applying to another origin.

Using the site properly

Please do not interfere with the site or with anyone else's use of it. In particular, do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, introduce malicious code, place excessive automated load on it, or submit another person's details to the notification list without their consent.

Links elsewhere

The site links to our sibling brand Tála and may link to other sites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of sites we do not operate.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site, or from reliance on information published on it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Changes, law and jurisdiction

We may amend these terms. The version and date at the top of this page will change when we do, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Madikeri, Kodagu, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
